Each skill or Enhance card has an activation type that dictates when and how its effect is triggered. Understanding these types is essential for strategizing and maximizing each card's potential in play.
Slow Activation can only be used by the active player during turn 2, and only one Slow Activation effect may be played per turn. The effects last only for that action unless otherwise specified.
If other effects or attacks cause Defense cards to be flipped face-up, Defense Slow Activation effects will activate.
Delayed effects activate when a card is played or a defense card is flipped face-up, but their resolution occurs later at the beginning of Phase 3.
Trigger effects activate immediately when a card is played or when a Defense card is flipped face-up.
Fast Activation effects can be used at any time on any turn and last only for that action unless otherwise specified.
If activated during an ongoing action (such as an attack or another instant), the effect occurs during the action, before it is completed.
Instant effects activate immediately upon being played.
Attack Activation effects take place during an attack.
When an attack is declared and an attacking Super and Defense card are chosen, if the Defense card is face-down, it is flipped face-up. If the Defense card has a skill, its effect takes precedence and activates first, followed by the Attack Activation effect.
Offensive effects occur during an attack and typically either aid the attacker or disrupt the defender.
On-going Activation effects remain active as long as they are in play and face-up.
If a Defense card with a on-going Defense skill is flipped face-up, its effect activates before any Offensive Ability skill.
Passive effects stay active as long as the card is face-up or in play and can influence gameplay in various ways, from boosting power to forcing opponents to discard cards.
