Count Mastiff – Origin & Biography
Victor Dashev, better known in the shadows as Count Mastiff, is among the oldest of the undead — a direct descendant of Dracula himself. Born in the dark heart of Transylvania, he was raised amidst the ancient courts of vampiric nobility. For centuries, he reigned alongside Dracula and other elder vampires, presiding over a kingdom shrouded in fear and superstition. His name was whispered in terror by mortals and spoken with reverence by the vampire elite.
As the centuries passed and empires crumbled, Mastiff eventually grew weary of eternal war and sought a different path. In the modern age, he moved to America, hiding in plain sight. Adopting the guise of an eccentric but wealthy recluse, he blended seamlessly among humans while quietly observing the world change around him.
Mastiff became one of the co-founders of H.E.A.D. Corps, using his ancient knowledge, supernatural senses, and centuries of combat expertise to help protect humanity from otherworldly threats. Within the Corps, he served as both an advisor and an active operative, often taking on missions too dangerous for ordinary humans.
During one of these missions, Mastiff crossed paths with Viriaz, a being of immense and alien power. In the heat of battle, Mastiff managed to sink his fangs into Viriaz — and in that moment, he tasted a blood unlike anything in his long existence. The blood was intoxicating, burning with energy both divine and infernal. It twisted his mind, awakening a hunger that eclipsed all reason.
Now, though he retains his regal composure, Mastiff is consumed by a silent obsession: to taste the blood of Viriaz once more. This desire drives him into dangerous alliances, calculated betrayals, and relentless hunts, even as he fights alongside his allies against the greater threats of the world.
